A senior Iranian lawmaker says the West should be held accountable for the recent massacre of more than 120 people in Syria’s northwestern province of Aleppo by foreign-backed Takfiri groups.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Tuesday that the United States and its allies are responsible for the “genocide” committed by the extremist groups in the Syrian town of Khan al-Assal as they continuously arm Takfiri militants in the Arab country.
On July 27, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported that armed terrorist groups had killed at least 123 people, mostly civilians but also including military personnel, during an attack on Khan al-Assal, west of Aleppo, last week.
The armed terrorist group, Ansar al-Khalifa Brigade, reportedly claimed responsibility for the killings. Members of this militant group mutilated the corpses, throwing them into a crater outside town and incinerated the bodies of a number of other victims.
