TUNIS/SANA’A, (SANA)- Al-Tunisiya newspaper revealed that tens of Tunisian fighters entered into Idleb province last week via Iskenderun to fight in Syria.
The newspaper said in a report published Thursday that about 43 Tunisian gunmen arrived through the airport of Antakya and other regions before the Turkish intelligence moved them to the border to enter Syria.
The report referred to a footage that showed around 20 terrorists, who called themselves ‘the Tunisian Battalion’, driving a truck in a border area between the western countryside of Aleppo and Iskenderun.
“Last week and the beginning of this week was tragic for some Tunisian families upon learning the news about the death of their sons,” the newspaper said.
It cited a number of Tunisian young men from various Tunisian cities and areas who were killed in Syria fighting alongside members of al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra against the Syrian Arab Army.
